“A smile goes a long way” is a phrase we’ve heard for decades and even though I believe that, I have been a skeptic of that phrase.
I am, however, beginning to believe that a smile does go a long way. For years I thought that when someone told me to smile on the outside regardless of what’s going on in the inside I never believed it. It was a false prophecy.
For the last four years I’ve dedicated my soul, my heart, and my mind to a passion I discovered later in life, Urban FLRT. On this course that I have been on I come in contact with some amazing people; some with good intentions and some without. I’m learning that having that smile within is the true groundwork to success. Some around you will try to take you off your course but you must be able to smile so you are not directed on a different path. And even though they may never understand, that smile that is within you is moving you forward towards your divine goal.
And I have to be honest with you, I almost gave up on a power that I can’t explain because I let someone else’s external power allow me to lose hope on my own internal power. The gifts, the ideas, and the passions that we have are gifts from God and if they belong to you no one can take them away so why should you not smile within.
Although this song “I Smile” by Kirk Franklin has been out since May 13, 2011, I came across it tonight and it made me realize that as long as I am smiling within no one regardless of the power that they might have can take away the gift that God has blessed me with so I Smile.
Every new day is a new day when we smile!
