I am sad to learn that one of my favorite DJs (DJ Peter Rauhofer) has passed away. I never met him but because music is food for the soul, he is one DJ I can say touched my soul. His mixes would make me dance anywhere and at anytime regardless of where I was.

His death is a simple reminder that tomorrow is not promised and how important it is to live your life the way you want, work hard to make your dreams come true, tell the ones you love that you love them, say I’m sorry and ultimately never look back. Life is a gift and a precious one. It could be over in a blink of an eye and the longer you waste it the shorter time you have to live.

Were you watching “American Idol” last night? If not, you missed the performance of the season. Fantasia Barrino, winner from season three proudly took the stage once again to perform her latest single, “Lose to Win.”

Fantasia’s voice was controlled and not over the top. Her performance was stellar. It was soulful, passionate, emotional and by the end you knew it was no ordinary performance. If you follow Fantasia you know she hasn’t had the greatest life or career since winning American Idol. In the entertainment industry you do not often get a second chance. From the emotion at the end of her performance it appeared to me that she was saying to the world, you may not be giving me second chance but I’m going to give myself a second chance. With a new album and a new look, it’s only fitting that she return to the stage that launched her career. You might have thought she was losing but after last night it became clear that she is back to winning. The new album “Side Effects of Me” launches April 23.
