If you’re like me the whole Weight Watchers movement was getting old. However, after seeing the new commercial with Charles Barkley dressed as a woman I could not help but laugh. It’s so hilarious, I had to post it!
Men for decades have not been associated with the struggle to lose weight, well at least openly or admitting to being a member of Weight Watchers. However, this new campaign targeted toward men does the trick. Even though men have been members of Weight Watchers for years the commercial is funny enough to get your attention. With obesity on the rise, it’s great to see Weight Watchers targeting a population where the issue of weight is not openly discussed or often viewed as a women’s problem.
The overall message is cleverly presented and in a manner that you suddenly realize that you’ve been carrying that same crazy notion. Weight Watchers is not just for woman. Plus, if Weight Watchers can get Charles Barkley, a heterosexual man and former NBA basketball player to dress up in drag for a national ad campaign, I can not see any reason why a man would resist joining Weight Watchers after watching this commercial.
