It’s been a full month since my last post and you would not believe that I, the person with the passion for dating for success has been unable to write a single word about love. I’ve even been at a loss to inspire others to “Date Smart… Date for Success!” I guess you could say I’ve been having a love drought lately.

When I initially created Urban FLRT Lifestyle I was confident that I was the perfect example of someone who’s faith in love was restored after being convinced otherwise. It was during a time in my life when I was growing emotionally and spiritually and I was becoming excited about life again. I wanted to share my knowledge and the experiences that helped me have a new and positive outlook toward a topic so many have given up on. It was my personal crusade!

Dating Smart… Dating for Success made sense. However, now I’m at a point where I am unable to write on a topic I’ve been so passionate about. But how could I, the Urban FLRT Lifestyle Guru, be in a place of hopelessness after working so hard at restoring my faith in love?

During a few recent encounters with people who were experiencing the same feelings of loss and misdirection, I suddenly had another “aha” moment. It was as if a light bulb had gone off. Although each person had a different relationship experience and outcome, we all had one thing in common. Each had lost hope in some part of our lives, which made me realize that we hadn’t given up on love but rather we no longer had hope.

It’s one of the most valuable “aha” moments I’ve experienced because I never realized how much hope controls our actions, emotions and feelings towards ourselves and others. When hope is no longer present we silently live in a gloomy place. Hope is what gives us the ability to take a risk regardless of the outcome. These recent encounters also made me realize that as long as someone has hope they can become their own date guru and life expert!
