I’m Obsessed

urbanlandmedia.com, moviesHave you ever had someone love you? Have you ever had someone never want to leave your side because they are in love you? Have ever had someone find your “NO” to be a challenge to play a game of cat chase the mouse? Are you obsessed?

The modern day “Fatal Attraction,” “Obsessed” has hit the big screen. A plot we are all very familiar with but this time it’s not your classic cheating husband in a web of deceit and lies to avoid the discovery of an affair. “Obsessed” is clever and successful in its delivery of “if I can’t have you, no-one can!”

Finally, a movie where the twist and turns that most fatal attraction flicks are based on is caused by a very delusional woman played by one of our favorite “Heroes” stars, who is used to dying, Ali Larter. Ali’s performance was not only convincing but eye candy for the men and will have most women screaming, “That is one Crazy Bitch!” Don’t be surprised when your date looks over at you as if to say, try it and Ill show you “Crazy!”

As an African American male from a single parent home, Idris Elba’s role as a successful, devoted, loving and a committed husband and not willing to risk his functional, successful and loving family for a quickie in the bathroom during a Christmas party or deadly affair was refreshing to see.

Beyonce Knowles’ performance was surprisingly better than I expected. Walking into it I thought she would be horrible. It’s not an Oscar performance but she has grown as an actress. However, if you are going only for Beyonce, her screen time is limited. However, when she is on, she gives it her all.

I do not think either woman really has a good big-screen presence but Ali Larter and Beyonce’s fight scene was worth the money.

As my loyal visitors and readers know, I am not a fan of going to the movies on a date. I believe planning and going on a date goes beyond your standard movies and dinner. It requires being creative when selecting the things you do.

However, I do recommend seeing “Obsessed” with a bunch of your friends so you can compare all your own “obsessed” moments. We all have them.

Plus, if you’re in a relationship already that’s on thin ice, you might want to skip this one! We don’t want to give anyone any ideas how to make your life a living hell. Now, don’t say, I didn’t warn you.

That's all we have to say on the subject
