When I ride the 6 train heading to my mother’s house there is one person who comes to mind, Jennifer Lopez. I have been an admirer of Jennifer Lopez for years because we are both native New Yorkers. Plus, she is the true essence of the Bronx and the Latin community who live there. Each time I ride the 6 train, I am amazed at the fact that so many women and young girls remind me of her. They all have her swag, style and beauty. However, it was only until my mother moved to Co-op City which is in the Bronx that I felt a deeper connection to Jennifer.

I feel connected to her because whenever I am heading to my to visit my mom, I can’t escape thinking about her. No matter what’s going on in my life the moment I hit “Castle Hill” I think of Lopez’s first CD, “On The 6.” Jennifer and I will forever be connected simply because of the 6 train. Plus, we both are native New Yorkers who are passionate about the Urban Lifestyle and call New York City home.

One day I might even get the opportunity to dance with Jennifer Lopez. Will at least I’ve danced with her several times in my mind, especially when I pass Castle Hill, her old stomping ground a stop on the 6 train.
