Are you beginning to notice that your single friends haven’t gained a pound since Christmas? Are your added pounds starting to equal the number of years you’ve been in a relationship? Are you beginning to believe your single friends have the secret pill to maintaining their weight?
If so, let’s seriously think about this. Is it because you’re eating too much and you’re in a relationship or is it simply because your friends are “single”. I think being single is the instant diet plan to staying thin and trim.
Just this weekend I experienced another “aha” moment after a friend asked me how I’ve maintained my weight over the years. At first, like most, I was flattered but as the conversation continued I began to be reminded of the many pressures of being single.
As I explained and tried to convince my friend that I haven’t been to the gym, I suddenly realized I am on an instant diet, “I’m Single!” Although we would like to believe a person’s personality is what attracts a person at first, its not! It’s their looks.
Nevertheless, since my brief encounter with my friend, I have seriously tried to recall the last time one of my fellow single friends commented on my weight or mentioned how good I look and honestly I can’t!
I think I’ve stumbled onto something! I think my relationship-bound friends are indirectly saying, “Still single?”
Have they forgotten that when you’re single you instantly go on autopilot? You watch what you eat, eat less, look at yourself several times a day in the mirror and for those adventurous types head to the gym 3 times a week. Amazingly without thinking about it!
Doesn’t that sound like someone on a diet? I know how difficult it is to be single or in a relationship but my mission is to be thought provoking, inspiring but at the same time poke fun at the many insane things we do, say or hear when we are dating.
So the next time one of your married / partnered friends ask you what you’re doing to look so good! Tell them you’re on the Instant Diet for Singles!
