Urban FLRT Featured Shirts This year during the first weekend in October Urban FLRT was one of the artists featured during Harlem Art Walking Tour 2012. The tour showcased the work of over 80 artists living and working in Harlem. The tour takes individuals through the beautiful historic streets of Harlem and is mapped out through various parts of the neighborhood and points out places where you can discover new artwork, galleries and meet artists from Harlem’s vibrant art scene. It was an honor to be included this year We were showcasing our current Urban FLRT t-shirt collection which was on display at the beautiful shop, Harlem Flo Boutique. Seventeen pieces from our collection were on-hand for browsing. Being featured at Harlem Flo Boutique gave us an opportunity to hear first-hand what consumers think about our product. Watching a person’s overall reaction as they browsed through the collection for the first time was informative.

The one reaction that sticks out the most is watching every person’s face light up by being pleasantly surprised after feeling the texture of the shirts. Each person’s first comment was on how soft our shirts feel. They were even more intrigued to find that our t-shirts are NOT screen-printed. We use a new dye process that makes the colors of our shirts more vivid with designs that are permanent and don’t fade. Everyone we met over the course of the two days was impressed by how different our shirtslook and feel from screen-printed ones. They all agreed, they’ve never seen a t-shirt like an Urban FLRT and loved the uniqueness and the artistic graphics.

We enjoyed our two days at Harlem Flo Boutique. It was a successful event for Urban FLRT. I must give a big shoot out to the owners of Harlem Flo Boutique where we are located because they were so welcoming. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. If you haven’t been to Harlem Flo Boutique we highly recommend you do.
